
SENSEI
Guillermo Gomez, the founder of Aikido Sarasota Aikikai and Martial Fusion, started training Aikido in 1988 with Nelson Requena Sensei 7th Dan Aikikai at Venezuela Aikikai Caracas, and received his Shodan (First Degree black belt) in 1996 from Yoshimitsu Yamada Sensei 8th Dan New York Aikikai.
In 1997 Guillermo obtain a Marketing & Advertising degree from IUNP in Caracas, while simultaneously completing a 1 year internship at AW Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising as a creative writer. Soon after moving to Miami, Florida, where he continue practicing and teaching Aikido and Kickboxing at international events and venues.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Guillermo has an extensive world travel experience, from healing shamanic rituals in the Amazon Jungle to China's legendary Shaolin Temple, to collaborations with multiple law enforcement agencies, military personnel, and international organizations throughout Europe and the Americas. He is currently a 6th Dan in Aikido by Aikikai Hombu Dojo (Tokyo, Japan).
